Explain how the 9×9 grid is made of rows, columns, and boxes
Understanding the Sudoku board structure is essential for solving puzzles.
A Sudoku board consists of 81 cells arranged in a 9×9 grid.
The grid is divided into 9 rows (horizontal lines) numbered 1-9 from top to bottom.
There are 9 columns (vertical lines) numbered 1-9 from left to right.
The grid is also divided into 9 boxes (3×3 regions), often outlined with thicker borders.
We call rows, columns, and boxes collectively as "houses" or "units".
Each house must contain all digits 1-9 exactly once when the puzzle is complete.
Row 5 is highlighted. It must contain digits 1-9 with no repeats.
Column 3 is highlighted. It must contain digits 1-9 with no repeats.
The center box is highlighted. It must contain digits 1-9 with no repeats.
